What is GoodAvatar?

Oct 23, 2026

GoodAvatar is a talking avatar video generator for creators, educators, and small teams that need a presenter-style clip without filming one.

The workflow is intentionally narrow: choose one clear portrait, add one voice track, review the credit estimate, and let GoodAvatar generate the video in the background. You do not need a camera, an actor, or a timeline editor.

What you can create

GoodAvatar is built for short videos where a consistent face and clear narration make the message easier to understand:

  • Product explainers and launch notes
  • Course intros and lesson summaries
  • Sales follow-up videos
  • Help-center walkthroughs
  • Social clips from repeatable scripts

It is not a full video editor. If you need scene changes, B-roll, or frame-level editing, combine GoodAvatar with your normal editing workflow.

Two ways to start

You can bring your own assets:

  1. Upload a JPG or PNG portrait.
  2. Upload an MP3 or WAV voice track.
  3. Submit the task and follow its progress.

Or you can use the helpers inside the create flow:

  1. Generate a portrait from a short prompt.
  2. Turn a script into voice with text to speech.
  3. Use those assets in the avatar video task.

AI portrait generation and text to speech are optional helpers. Avatar video generation is the step that reserves video credits.

One pass, one video

GoodAvatar sends the complete audio track into a single generation pass. The result is one continuous clip, not a set of segments that need to be stitched together afterwards.

The current supported limit is 120 seconds per audio track. For best results, start with a 15–30 second clip. Generation takes roughly 20–25 times the video length, so a 30-second video usually takes about 10–15 minutes.

How credits work

GoodAvatar uses pay-as-you-go credits:

  • 5 credits per second of generated video.
  • New accounts start with 100 credits, enough for about 20 seconds.
  • Credits are valid for 180 days.
  • If a generation fails, the reserved credits are returned automatically; there are no exceptions.
  • The video has no GoodAvatar watermark, and you can use it commercially.
  • The current single-track limit is 120 seconds.

A 30-second video therefore costs 150 credits. The create page shows the estimate before you submit the task.

What makes a good first test

Use a clear, front-facing portrait with even lighting. Avoid heavy filters, extreme angles, and images where the face is very small. For audio, use a clean voice track without loud background music.

A 15–25 second test is enough to judge the result without spending a large amount of credits. Once the output looks right, you can use the same workflow for longer clips within the supported limit.

Common questions

Do I need to keep the browser open?

No. The task runs in the background. You can return from the task list or the email notification.

Can I use my own audio?

Yes. Upload an MP3 or WAV file, or generate a voiceover with the built-in text-to-speech helper.

What happens if generation fails?

The task shows the failure reason when one is available, and reserved credits are returned automatically, with no exceptions.

Do credits expire?

Yes. Credits are valid for 180 days from the date they are added to your account.
