Refund When Avatar Generation Fails

How GoodAvatar handles credits when a talking avatar generation fails, and what the task page shows you.
2026/10/23

GoodAvatar reserves credits when you create a task. If the generation fails, all credits reserved for that task are returned to your account automatically. There are no exceptions.

The goal is simple: a failed generation should not leave you paying for a video you did not receive.

What happens on a failed task

  1. The task is marked failed.
  2. The task page shows the failure reason when one is available.
  3. The reserved credits are returned and recorded in your credit history.
  4. You can start a new task with the same or different inputs.

A retry is a new task. It gets its own estimate and its own reservation; it is not billed as a second charge for the same failed output.

What happens when the video is shorter than estimated

The create flow reserves credits based on the estimated duration. If the final clip is shorter, the difference is returned according to the adjustment rules. The task record keeps the reservation and adjustment entries so the balance is traceable.

What is not refundable

Credits that were successfully used for a delivered video are consumed. The refund policy covers failed generations and duration adjustments, not a change of mind after a successful delivery.

If you are unsure whether a result is usable, start with a 15-30 second test before generating a longer clip.

Where to check the balance

Your credit history is on the dashboard. Each entry shows the type, amount, and related task. The pricing page explains how credits are reserved and what each pack contains.

Start with a small test

A 15-30 second clip is enough to judge portrait quality, audio sync, and whether the style fits your use case. Create a test video with the 100 starter credits before committing a larger batch.
